Have We Born Sinners?

There are many discussions on this subject in the past.  Have we born sinners?  Who can answer this question?  I am going to tell you my opinion on this subject.

According to the Bible, since Adam and Eve sinned, their children are all sinners.  Therefore, we are all sinners when we were born.  There is no one who are born without sinful nature.

“What are mortals, that they could be pure, or those born of woman, that they could be righteous?” John 15:14

The Bible delivered to us this devastating news.  Do you believe it is true?

Then the Bible tell us the good news.   Jesus Christ was born and he came to save us from our sins – his blood would wash away our sins.  Now Jesus was gone and sins still remain with us.  We might be even more sinful than our forefathers during the time that Jesus was here on earth.  Has his death made a difference to this world?

“God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Roman 5:8

In newspapers, there are crimes reported every single day.  There are wars, killings and all sort of inhuman acts that some of us performed.  A good Samaritan Alan Henning was beheaded by the Islamic State is one example of our barbaric acts.  He was such a kind and generous person.  I felt terribly sad when I knew about it.

Are we actually born sinners?  My answer is NO.

Here is what I think.

Have you heard of this saying?  Human is social animals.  This statement is a perfect description of us.  We are animals.

When we were born we were no different from any other animals – we are born animals.  For animals, there are no right and wrong in what they do.  They just followed their own instinct or nature – you cannot say a tiger killing another animal for food is wrong.

Some people might say, “We are different from animals, we have intelligent.”

That might be true, but I have personally seen some people’s intelligent are so low that they are no different from animals.  Those who killed Alan Henning were worse than animals.

I have a formula:  From Animal to Human

The only way to transform anyone from animal to human is to use education.  If you still have your animal behaviours, you cannot call yourself human.  You have not gone though the transformation stage.  Or you are a half animal, half human.

It is a fact that if a child is raised by an animal, the child will grow up acting exactly like an animal.  So if we do not teach our children how to rid of their animal behaviours, we have a world full of animals – not human.  You can see the importance of education.

The kind of education I am talking about is not physics, mathematics, geography, biology or chemistry.  Teaching these subjects will not help in getting rid of our animal behaviours.  We need to teach our children what is the meaning living as a human.  We need to teach them what are the right things to do as a human.

Besides teaching them, we need to set good examples.  If you smoke, how could tell a child smoking is not good for him.

The reason why we have so much suffering in this world is we are still living in an animal world.  We have not advanced beyond that.  Thousand of years has gone and we are still the same.  Most people think that if they make a lot of money then they will be happy.  Yes, it is true.  With more money, it will be able to satisfy your animal nature.

The choice is up to yours.  Whether you like to live like an animal or live like a human. I know, it is easier to live like an animal for you don’t have to follow any rules.  You can do whatever you like.  To live as a human, you have to follow rules.  You have to be kind and you need to help others.  If you are always thinking about yourself, then you are not completely human yet.

Conclusion

When I tell you “we are born animal” and not “we have born sinners”.  I am not trying to say the Bible is wrong.  The Bible might have its own reason to tell us that, and I don’t know what is the reason.

I did go to church before.  When they told me to repent my sins and I couldn’t do it, for I didn’t see I have sins.  If God has made me like this and I should be pure and not sinful – I am God’s creation.  Otherwise, you are telling me that God has made an inferior product – me.  If I see God, I will ask him why he made sinful people – just made nothing as all.

Also, if Adam and Eve are sinners, but as their children, we have done nothing wrong.  Can’t God just forgave them and forget about it.  Why is it written in the Bible for generations to see?  It is sort of like when you committed a crime and the judge published your crime and printed millions of copies to tell your children you had done that.  That is a horrible thing to do.  Adam and Eve were kicked out from Eden, wasn’t that enough punishment?

For reasons like these, I don’t go to church anymore.  I like Christianity and going to church is a good thing.  The church teaches people to be nice and decent and I totally agree with this practice.  I have a lot of nice friends who are Christians.   For me, I could never be a Christian unless someone could give me a reasonable explanation of why is it like this.

Now back to the main topic.  There is another transformation we need, but only a few people are able to do it.  It is the transformation from human to saint.  To transform from human to saint, we have to become selfless.  We live our life not only for ourselves but for others as well.

We could live in paradise when every one of us can transform from animal to human, then from human to saint.
