History’s Most Popular Books

I am going to list all the most popular books over here. There is no particular order in the appearance of the list. If you have any suggestions to add to my list of most popular books, you are more than welcome to leave me a comment.

Books are the most important entertainment over the past thousand years.  They capture our imagination, we laugh, we cry, we anguish, we love and we hate with the books that we enjoy.  Reading is still one of the most popular hobbies.

gone with the wind
Gone with the Wind was written by Margaret Michell, it was first
published in 1936.  The story setting was during the American Civil War.  It depicts
the struggles of young Scarlett O’Hara, how she use every mean at her disposal to
fight her way out of poverty.  It shows the selfish side of human behavior.   The
book was later made into a movie and this is the only book written by Margaret
Mitchell.
 pride and prejudice
Pride and Prejudice were written by Jane Austen, first published in
1813. The story centers on Elizabeth Bennet, the second of the five daughters.  As
she deals with issues of manners, upbringing, morality, education, and marriage.  It
ends with a fairytale ending.
 Book - 1984 Nineteen Eighty-Four was written by George Orwell which is published in 1949.  The novel is set in Airstrip One (formerly Great Britain).  It is a political science-fiction and it had been made into a movie.
Book - The Thorn Birds The Thorn Birds is a novel by Colleen McCullough, published in 1977. The story sets in a sheep station in Australia Outback. Later it was adapted into a television miniseries. Thornbird is a mystical bird which searches for thorn trees from the day it is hatched. When it finds the perfect thorn, it impales itself and sings a beautiful song before death.
