Follow Your Dream

Do you have a dream? Is there anything that you wanted? Or you don’t have enough money and you want to make more? Do you know how to follow your dream and make it come true?

The other day I was helping another member of Wealthy Affiliate to review her website. JT (her nickname) put in her “About Me” page about her dream. She wants two luxury cars, a nice apartment, few investment properties, a yacht and maybe a private plane in the future.

I told her, don’t tell others about your dream. They are notHard drives and storage interested in your dream; most people only care for themselves. You need to tell them what you can do for them to realize their dream.

That is what I am going to talk about. There is one way I know that you could make your dream come true.

After that, JT knew what she did wrong and she published a blog on Wealthy Affiliate to tell people what she has learned. She said, “If you want to make your dream come true. You need to be a dreamer,  a thinker, and a doer.”  What a fantastic idea!

Why do you need to be a dreamer?

The first step to getting anything that you want is to have a dream. Most successful people have one thing in common, they all start with a dream. Give you an example, I saw an interview of Chris Hadfield – he was an ex-astronaut. He took some really nice pictures when he was orbiting earth inside the spaces station. He published them on the internet and he has a lot of people followed him. They all want to know what he was doing.  Here is one of his videos.

During the TV interview, Chris said, “If you want to achieve something. Start with a dream. Pretend that if everything goes the way you want it to be, what would you like to do? What would you want?”  He continued, “After you know what you want, you have to make a plan and how would you be able to achieve and make your dream come true. Then you set off step by step to get it. But one thing to remember is to make sure you have fun along the way.”

What an excellent statement! He dreamed of being an astronaut when he was nine, and he has achieved what he wanted.

My reader spent some time and think about what you want and build your dream. I know a lot of people have self-limiting beliefs and they think they don’t deserve something good. They do not believe in themselves. Let me tell you, everyone is able to do it. Cast off the scary thought and build your dream. Think big and think positive.

Why do you need to be a thinker?

It is very simple. Your dream will not just come true by itself if you don’t have a plan to make it happen. You need to make a plan. If you want to make more money.  You ask yourself what can you do to make money? Do you have the skill to make a lot of money? If you don’t, you need to go and learn the skill.  Go back to school. Ask someone you know who is successful.

Draft a plan of action. So that is why you need to be a thinker. You need a very detail plan; a step by step guide that you created yourself.  I give you an example:

  1.  Go to the library and borrow 10 books on making money
  2.  Write down 10 items that you can do to make money
  3.  Spend one week on each idea and write a report on the possibility of each item
  4. Base on your own reports drafts a plan on the best idea.  This is the plan you are going to follow.

Why do you need to be a doer?

I don’t think you need me to tell you why.  If you don’t do anything, your dream will next be realized.  So follow your plan and go out and do it.

Normally, you will not be successful on your first attempt.  Unless you are extremely lucky or your planning is perfect.  You will go through a cycle like this:

plan – do – fail —- plan again – do again – fail again —–  plan again – do again – fail again –>

In fact, many entrepreneurs have when through this failure and retry period.  I give you a few examples:

  • Colonel Harland Sanders – Kentucky Fried Chicken
  • Dave Ramsey – The Money Game
  • Bill Gates – Microsoft
  • Henry J. Heinz – H.J. Heinz Company

These people all learned from their failure and overcome the difficulty.  Then, later on, continued to build a successful business.

You need to be a doer.  When you fail, learn from your failure and do it again.  You will be successful when you don’t give up.  May your dream come true.

Mr Wailer,
I have always been a little afraid to dream, as I did not want to be disappointed. You have given me permission to dare to dream again, because it is the stepping stone to success. That is the other thing – you have demonstrated that the other steps are just as important. Without each step, starting with the dreams, if you have no plans, you will not achieve anything………… love all the thought provoking information.

I love how you put things into prospective.
People often have a dream and do nothing about it because they think it’s impossible for them to make it happen. But when they break it down into action steps, it gets much easier to achieve.
Dream big and make it happen..fall 9 times, but get up 10.
Looking forward to reading more from you,
Karla

    Hi Karla,

Thank you for visiting and leaving a comment. Yes, success is not that easy as people think it is. Most successful people have failed in their first few attempts.
